College move-ins are very emotional for everyone involved. On the one hand, the student is happy to be leaving to college but, on the other, they are sad to leave the life that they were used to. Parents feel the same way, too. They are happy to see their student go off to college but feel sad to see their offspring leave home. It is not easy for a parent nor for a student to say goodbye! It is much better to just say "so long" or "see you soon" and wish them good luck because, in the end, all will be well!
