The Supreme Court's 2023 decision to end affirmative action led to significant declines in Black and Latino student enrollments at elite universities. For example, MIT saw Black student enrollment drop from 15% to 5%, while Amherst College's Black first-year student percentage fell from 11% to 3%. These shifts raise concerns about decreasing diversity in higher education.
