Q: Is Calculus necessary for admissions to Engineering?

A: Yes, it is but not all high schools offer calculus so the student cannot be jeopardized for this. Not only that, many universities are still test optional meaning neither the SAT nor the ACT are required so why would calculus be required? The takeaway from this article is that if the student can take it and they want to take it, so be it. But if they cannot take it and still want to pursue engineering, they should be able to do so without feeling guilty for not having taken calculus in high school.
